Hello,
I recently purchased Ash and am loving it so far. However, I've come to a part where you meet a dragon in a cave (if this happens to happen more than once, I'm referring to the first time).
When the game goes to enter the battle with the dragon, the game crashes. I made it into the battle once, but it crashed after a few rounds. It's done this to me now about a dozen times.
Anyone out there have a similar problem? A solution perhaps?
Thanks!
Me too

I have also run into the same problem. Any news on fixing this bug?

By omega1227 on Feb 19, 2012 at 8:27pmHey Andrew, thanks for the update. I've tried a few more times without luck. I'll keep checking back to see if anyone has found a solution this. Hopefully soon, I've been really impressed with this game so far

By Andrew on Feb 23, 2012 at 3:18pmThanks for holding in there we really appreciate the loyalty and are still hard at work on a fix. We will make a larger announcement once that fix is available though. Sorry you've had to put your playing on hold, we certainly know what that is like and are trying to make it as short a period as possible.
News?

found a workaround
By eleve on Feb 29, 2012 at 12:04pmI ran into the same problem and got around it by doing the following (iPhone 4, 32GB):
1) force quit Ash and restart
2) reload from a save from just before the encounter
3) start cut scene
4) wait...when the cut scene stops and combat starts, wait a few seconds longer (it's turn based so a few secs here or there don't make any difference :) )
5) after every tap, wait until you are certain it has been registered and the game is ready for the next tap...so no frenzied tapping as eg. I am prone to do when playing almost any engrossing game :)
I got through the whole fight this way (and, just btw., through a few other fights where the game would crash as well). There seems to be a slight timing problem that can be avoided by waiting until the game catches up with all the taps.
YMMV but I hope this helps.
Thanks but no...
By omega1227 on Feb 29, 2012 at 6:45pmThanks eleve for the attempted assist. Unfortunately for me, the crash happens when combat is initiated. I can't even get into the battle most of the time. I did manage to get into the battle once, but that was about a dozen tries ago and I've become too frustrated to try anymore.
Hopefully this new patch comes out soon and I can try that.
Further Issues...
By JGD on Mar 02, 2012 at 1:14amSo I was suffering through the same glitch at the dragon fight in which the game crashed once the battle began. I followed Eleve's suggestion of giving the game a couple seconds between entering commands, and miraculously, it was a success. HOWEVER, after returning to Staunton, getting through the cutscene, and departing towards the depot, the game now crashes every time a random battle occurs in the overworld. It's brutally frustrating to get hooked on the game only to hit a brick wall every few minutes with massive and unavoidable glitches. Would love to hear an update on the patch.....
@JGD
By Andrew on Mar 02, 2012 at 9:58amGlad to hear you were able to get past the Staunton Cave and trust me we are doing everything possible to get this update out as soon as possible. Expect to hear news next week, hopefully early next week but next week nonetheless. We all wish we had something more specific to tell you at this time but just hang in there. We're very sorry about these issues and we'll get you back to Aghaus soon!
Overland Crash
By LazyBum on Mar 06, 2012 at 3:43pmI also have been experiencing occasional crashes when I start a random overland encounter. The encounter never starts, it just goes immediately to the home screen. This happens about 20% of the time when I am in the region around the Imperial Supply Depot. I previously had run a good way around the world on this patch without problem, but the NE portion of the world is where it crashes.
@Lazyburn
By Andrew on Mar 06, 2012 at 6:55pmWhat type of device are you playing on LazyBurn? Additionally what version of iOS is your device running? Thanks!
Game crash
By LazyBum on Mar 16, 2012 at 12:27pmI am using an Iphone 4S with the latest software version of the game and the operating system.
I ran directly to the next city location and was able to avoid the crash. However, if I reload back in the prior city and run around outside, it would crash randomly.
This is a wild guess on my part, but perhaps it was crashing if I encountered a specific monster in the random encounters, but would be fine if I didn't encounter that specific monster.
News?
By Eweberdc on Mar 09, 2012 at 8:36pmSo, what's the news?
Crashes
By Lornereams on Apr 01, 2012 at 2:05pmI'm currently stuck on the dragon...it also repeatable to crash in the pirate ship on the second to last floor. Checking anything in that room causes a crash. Also some random encounters cause a crash on overworld. Wondering what next step re: fix and or refund should be expected? Thanks!
Refund
By Eweberdc on Apr 03, 2012 at 8:53amYeah, I agree with Lomereans, if we can't continue the game it's probably time for a refund. I only spent a dollar, but given the month + that we've been waiting, that dollar refund would go a long way to srrn's credibility in my eyes.
Apologies
By Andrew on Apr 03, 2012 at 2:11pmHey guys, I know things have been rough and we're starting to look unreliable but we have submitted an update over the weekend. We should be hearing back from Apple shortly and the update will be going live. We're terribly sorry it's taken this long to get the issue resolved but on a positive note all of these issues have helped us streamline the creation of Ash II and there will be more frequent updates/releases from us regarding Ash from now on. We greatly appreciate the patience and trust you've shown in us so far and only hope that getting the update out now is enough to keep you all around!
Ash update available!
By Andrew on Apr 10, 2012 at 10:54amHey guys, during PAX we were able to push the update that resolves the Staunton cave crash! Give it a download and you can finally get on with Ash, we are very sorry it's taken us this long to get the game back up and running but we know you won't be disappointed with the rest of the game!
