Good Day (Evening?),
I just wanted to say I'm enjoying the game so far. I have a hell of a lot of love for it.I do like the new art (Although, the drawing style of Marcus kinda reminds me of a character that would appear in Archer. Heh.)
The writing is excellent still, and I'm glad to see that the lighter humor is still present when it doesn't feel off to have it. The world graphics have definitely improved over the past and are lush and vibrant on my iPad, although I don't know if I miss the random world map battles yet (I'm okay with the seeing enemies on the screen in cities, dungeons, etc). I've got a special place in my heart for old school RPGs
I do have a couple of suggestions/tweaks and I don't know if it will help or matter, depending on where you are in the development process. This is all opinion, so take it as you will. The D pad and A buttons do need work. The D pad seems to be a bit too big while the A button is friggan huge. I'm like, 80 percent sure that could be shrunk without any repercussions. The battle screen setup is... decent. Something about it bothers me, but I can't put my finger on it just yet. I think it may be that the sprites are so different than the enemies in design that the enemies look a bit too small(The ones I have faced). Increasing the size of the enemies may help (The side menu's could probably be shrunk down a bit to give more room).
I'd love to be able to see what stats increased by how much when you level up (Example: Strength: 2 -> 4). As a side not, I've always been a fan of multiple expression portraits for each character. Always felt like it was a small piece that added a fair amount to the game.
I'm still playing through (Not that far in), so I can't say too much more than that. Don't take my nitpicking the wrong way, I love the game. (SEMI-SPOILER:)I love the characters and how Nick is more complex than the average video game character. That you can take him down a darker path, like the event at the end of Ash 1 with the guard, is great and not that common in this medium. I'm hoping to see more after Ash 2, perhaps about his redemption (If necessary and END OF SEMI-SPOILER). I've always loved the idea of games that involve the same characters. Too often each sequel has a new cast, or cameo's with old characters. I'm really hoping to see more of Damien, Yuka and Nick for the foreseeable future.
It does feel like the series has evolved in the right direction overall and I'm looking forward to what comes next. Thank you for putting such love and effort into the games.

By Andrew on Feb 07, 2012 at 11:55amDariath,
Thank you so much for your input. You never have to worry about us taking it the wrong way; we, much like who we make the games for, all have very different opinions about video games and more important than our bickering is hearing from players like you. Its never too late for suggestions, we will be working on Ash and Ash II for sometime constantly trying to make them better games. Let us know what you think when you get all the way through the game. Also keep an eye out for Chapter 2, we will be sending it to Apple for approval by the end of next week so expect to see it by the end of the month. Thank you again and we look forward to hearing from you about Chapter 2
I was actually going to send
By Sithis on Apr 02, 2012 at 4:48amI was actually going to send some feedback about the D-Pad being too small. My thumb keeps sliding off it, because there is no more room to move on it. It also makes you hit the wrong direction sometimes. I have to constantly have to look at it to adjust.
