Cannot open chests

So far I've found a few chests that seem to be impossible to open with the D-pad control (Heartwood south entrance, Agedan behind the building) and one that's just downright impossible (Tower of Aghaus final floor, between bookshelves).

Am I the only one who's having this problem? It really would help if chests take precedence over other interactive objects.

Were you able to

Were you able to battle/answer each of the four guardians' questions and proceed (and reposition them in any particular way)? Am I missing something? If I can get past that barrier, I can try to access that chest and let you know whether or not I am able. I have another topic regarding a possible glitch preventing my progression but, other than what I mentioned, can you think of anything that I am not doing to make the barrier disappear?

Four guardians

I had to battle the first three (from left to right) and answered the fourth one. Since the dialogues are fixed I figured that's the only way to go. The conversation with the fourth guardian repeats itself whenever I go near it and the barrier disappeared after I defeated the first three and talked to the fourth one again.

Also unable to open chests

I am also to unable to open some chest while using the d-pad. I did not think to switch control schemes to see if I could open them with that scheme.

Also I had no problems with the guardians in he Tower of Aghaus, only some chests

Chest trouble

I have also had trouble with opening some chests in the game.

Change back from D-pad

I also had the same issue but by switching back from D-pad control temporarily the problem was solved.
