When I was younger playing video games felt so much easier than it does now despite the difficulty of those games being so much greater.  Very little was ever said to the player and there was almost never a tutorial level.  Nowadays we’re spoon fed every inch of a games control scheme before we’re allowed to start playing which makes picking up and playing the game so much more of an ordeal.
